Food Ingredients – meet the Korean and Japanese food industry in 1:1 virtual b2b meetings

Meet the Korean and Japanese decision makers in the food ingredients segment in focused virtual b2b meetings. The Danish embassies will be hosting your clients at the Danish embassies.

The Danish Agriculture & Food Council and the Danish embassies in Seoul and Tokyo are planning a series of virtual b2b meetings. The meetings will be 1:1 virtual business meetings, running over 2-3 days in the afternoon local time and morning Danish time.

The Danish embassies in Seoul and Tokyo will be matchmakers according to your target groups and existing clients in a dialogue with you. Your Korean and Japanese client will be hosted at the Danish representations, where they will be able to see and feel and taste your physical products.

Each company will get 2-3 meetings per city. You can freely choose between participation at either destination.

The virtual meetings will be followed up by physical meetings at a planned delegation trip to Seoul and Tokyo Mid-March 2021 with seminars, b2b meetings, site visits and VIP receptions at the Ambassadors’ residences.

South Korea

Korea relies heavily on imports to fulfill its food and agricultural needs. The Korean food processing sector is the major user of imported agricultural products for processing use, including soybeans, wheat, vegetable oils, fruit juice concentrate, and food additives such as flavors, coloring agents and preservatives. There were over 29,000 food processing companies in Korea as of 2018 which generated approximately $66.1 billion, of sales. The rise in single-person households and the recent global pandemic are influencing consumer’s purchasing behavior, where they want convenient and value-for-money food products that suit their changed lifestyle.

Japan

The food industry in Japan is huge, the market size (excluding agricultural and livestock products) is DKK 1.4 trillion ($ 220 billion) in 2019 and steadily increasing. The industry is known as one of the world’s advanced and sophisticated, and always looking for innovative ingredients to create new food products. Trends in the industry are health, ready-to-eat, high nutrition with low quantity, and new source of protein with high nutritional value and food ingredients with low carbohydrate / fat / salt are very much appreciated.

Price
The price is based on a fixed number of companies and an expected 75 per cent subsidy from the Danish Trade Council. If the number of participating companies changes or if the support from the Trade Council is not approved, we reserve the right to offer participation at a different price. Should this result in a higher price than the one quoted you have the right to cancel your participation.
Price per destination: 2,100 DKK, excl. VAT.
