Postponed until 25 – 29 April 2022

Besøget vil bl.a. omfatte:

The Danish Embassy in London and The Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) hereby invite you to participate in our physical delegation to UK in October.

The program will contain information and presentations about the UK market post Brexit, visits to and b2b meetings with large-scale farms and stakeholders in UK with focus on efficiency and sustainability in the UK supply. The event is co-financed by 75% from The Trade Council.

Historically UK is one of the most important markets for Danish food export. Even with the UK leaving EU there is still a vast potential in the UK market with its low degree of self-sufficiency and relatively low productivity in the primary sector. We see a large consumer-driven, but also politically supported development for increasing the productivity and the capacity of the British food industry.

The ambitions are high to ensure sustainability, a high degree of environmental protection and high level of animal welfare and safety standards.

The agricultural policy has been reformed. In future subsidy will be granted according to the principle of “public payments for public goods”. Technologies supporting “more with less” productivity enhancement will be in high demand.

With its new agricultural act, the British government has laid the foundations to achieve Carbon neutrality in 2050. Support will be given to farmers and other relevant operators in three inter-connected support programs, all aimed at environmental improvements, biodiversity, Zero-emissions, better animal health, and animal welfare. The budget so far corresponds to the agricultural support payments made under the CAP.

Day 1. Transport and arrival to North Lincolnshire. Introduction to the program and the UK challenges and opportunities in the UK market

Day 2. Visiting production sites/buyer organizations, incl. meetings with management

Day 3. Visiting production sites/buyer organizations, incl meetings with management
