Export Delegation to the Midwest for the suppliers to the dairy value chain, 25-29 September 2023, Wisconsin

Take part in the joint export promotion of Danish dairy production technologies including visits at dairy farms and networking opportunities with stakeholders from the Midwest dairy community.

The Trade Council’s agriculture team in North America is organizing this joint export promotion together with Danish Agriculture & Food Council. The Trade Council in Denmark is supporting the event financially.

DAIRY FARMING IN THE MIDWEST
Wisconsin dairy sector is the second largest in the USA and accounts for not only 14% of the total U.S. milk production but also for 48% of all specialty cheeses that are produced in the U.S. As dairy operators face a challenging timeframe to reduce methane emissions, fast approaching water regulations, and rising labor and energy costs, the sector is currently undergoing a significant transition towards farming practices that are both more efficient and sustainable.

Danish dairy farmers are world leading when it comes to high productivity and low emissions of greenhouse gasses, and this creates a great opportunity for Danish companies to export their products and solutions.

FARM VISITS AND CONNECTING WITH CUSTOMERS
The export delegation to the Midwest will aim to give the participants a better understanding of the Midwestern dairy market and meeting potential customers through site visits to dairy farms and meetings with relevant industry organizations and companies.

In addition, the delegation takes place the week before the World Dairy Expo in Wisconsin, thus making it possible for participants to expand their visit to the US with exhibiting or visiting the Expo creating even more opportunities to meet and expand local network.

During the trip, we will explore new ways for dairy farmers to

  • Increase environmental sustainability
  • Develop new business opportunities
  • Improve operational efficiency
  • Reduce emissions and conserve water
  • Set high standards for animal health
  • Reduce operational costs at the farm

If your company is interested in the Midwest dairy sector, this trip will provide an ideal platform for understanding the drivers of the dairy sector and engage in specific discussions about your company’s product or service with the local dairy community.
