The Danish Agriculture & Food Council, The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, Danish Agro Industry, Food Nation and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi are happy to invite you to the event “India Day – Explore your business opportunities and how to tap into the Green Strategic Partnership between Denmark and India”. The event is relevant for companies from the Danish agriculture and food cluster who want to know more about the commercial opportunities for cooperation for export of sustainable solutions and equipment to India.

India is a fast-growing market and often a country that is overlooked by many Danish companies. However, increased collaboration between Denmark and India over the recent years has opened new business opportunities for the private sector.

Clear your calendar on Tuesday morning 25 April, where the Danish Agriculture & Food Council will open its doors at Axelborg for you to learn how to tap into the enormous commercial opportunities under the Green Strategic Partnership between Denmark and India. Since 2018, Denmark and India have agreed to strengthen the
cooperation within the field of food and agriculture with the
signing of two Memoranda of Understanding. A Joint Working
Group on Animal Husbandry and Dairying and a Joint Working
Group on Food Processing and Food Safety ensure the
development of joint activities and partnerships within the
framework of the two Memoranda of Understanding.

The Green Strategic Partnership is a mutually beneficial
arrangement to advance political cooperation, expand economic
relations and green growth, create jobs and strengthen cooperation
on addressing global challenges and opportunities. Given the
immense potential to collaborate in the agricultural sector, the
Green Strategic Partnership encourages deeper and closer
cooperation between authorities, businesses, and research
institutions in the sectors of food processing and food safety as
well as animal husbandry and dairying. Since 2018, Denmark and
India have agreed to strengthen the cooperation within the field
of food and agriculture.

India: Growth engine and investment opportunities
by Guidance Tamilnadu.

Established in 1992, ‘Guidance’ is the Government of Tamil
Nadu’s nodal agency for investment promotion and single window
facilitation. Guidance is mandated under the Tamil Nadu Business
Facilitation Rules to promote Tamil Nadu as the most preferred
investment destination by reaching out, helping, and improving the
ease & cost of doing business.

Shared experiences from Indian-owned company in Denmark

Westrup helps meet the demands of a changing world through
developing and designing post-harvesting equipment. Climate change
and economic challenges require farmers and seed sorting facilities to
adapt constantly. With an increasing population worldwide, getting
the highest yields, sustainable crops and ensuring food safety 
simultaneously, require machine manufacturers to integrate the latest
technologies. Westrup is a post-harvesting machine manufacturer
located in Denmark and owned by the Indian Barwale Family together 
with its affiliated partner in India, Fowler Westrup.

With the objective of introducing the world to rich Indian food culture as well as promoting investments in the diverse food processing sector of the country, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the first edition of World Food India in 2017. In view of celebrating 2023 as the International Year of Millets and to bring global food processing
industry together, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is organising the second edition ‘World Food India 2023’ from 3-5 November 2023 in New Delhi.
