Biofach China

Danish organic companies are invited to join the Danish pavilion at BioFach China May 24-26 2018 i Shanghai.

Chinese consumers experience high yearly income gains and food retail sales are growing by double-digit percentages. With a population of 1.4 billion and a fast growing middle class with rising demands for food safety and quality, China has emerged as the world’s largest consumer market for food and beverages. By 2018, the Association of Food Industries predicts that China will be the world’s largest consumer of imported food.

A continuous increasing part of the Chinese population value food safety and high quality – demands that the Danish food industry can meet. The organic consumption in China is expected to have reached 5,5 Bio. Euro in 2016 which is an increase of 17% from the year before making China the fourth biggest organic market in the world. China is now the third largest organic export market for Denmark and the export is expected to reach about 300 mio. DKK I 2016 (from 240 mio DKK in 2015). Despite challenging market access regulation the cooperation agreements between Denmark and China is expected to facilitate the process further. BioFach China is a great opportunity for Danish organic companies to promote their products and meet existing and potential business partners.

BioFach China – largest organic fair in Asia
476 Exhibitors from 17 countries and regions participated in BioFach China 2017 and the fair attracted more than 17,750 national and international visitors. Denmark has been given great attention at the fair in the last years at BioFach and in 2017 it was nominated ‘Country of the year’. Since 2007, BioFach China has become the most influential organic trade fair in China. Under the patronage of IFOAM, it is the only trade fair in China which specifically focuses on organic products.
