The market situation

Ukraine's agricultural industry is one of the most dynamic in Europe, playing a crucial role in the country's economy and global food security. Ukraine is one of the world's leading producers of grains, sunflower oil, and other essential agricultural commodities.

However, to fully realize its potential, Ukraine is seeking to modernize its agricultural practices and infrastructure. There is an increasing demand for advanced technologies, sustainable practices, and high-quality food products areas where Danish expertise is globally recognized.

The Ukrainian government has made the agricultural and food industry a strategic priority due to its critical role in the economy, employment, and export potential. Recognizing the agricultural sector as a backbone of the economy, the government of Ukraine has introduced various incentives to attract both domestic and foreign investment into the agro-processing sector. These include tax incentives, subsidies, and grants aimed at modernizing facilities, adopting new technologies, and increasing production capacity.

The government’s policy on value-added grain processing, coupled with the rising demand for animal feed, creates strong investment opportunities in both sectors, be it grain milling, packaging or export. Investors can capitalize on policies that support the development of grain-based products, driving higher profit margins and market expansion.

The Russian attacks to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine made Ukrainian agro industry and individual farmers to look deeply into alternative energy sources, which are steadily becoming part of everyday life.

Biogas production became especially efficient and investment-attractive technology due to the availability of significant raw material potential, favourable natural and climatic conditions and low cost of this type of energy. Moreover, as a next step, in 2024 Ukrainian Parliament adopted the law that creates the possibility of biogas export.

Changes and complications in logistics made a lot of farmers to look for alternatives, expanding and developing new arms of business, therefor investing into equipment, farm designs, new technology and innovations.

Also, Ukraine's ongoing EU application process is accelerating reforms across its agricultural sector. As the country aligns its standards with EU regulations, it stimulates an increase focus on processed foods and animal welfare and health, as well as climate impact from food production.

By participating, you will not only have the chance to showcase your products and services but also to forge strategic partnerships and gain valuable insights into the needs and preferences of Ukrainian consumers.

We strongly encourage you to seize this opportunity to position your brand at the forefront of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Your participation will not only contribute to your company’s success but also strengthen Denmark's reputation as a leader in agricultural innovation.
