Business delegation to meet Chilean poultry producers

The programme offers a unique opportunity for companies along the poultry value chain to tap into the vast business possibilities of the Chilean market

The Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) and The Trade Council at Royal Danish Embassy in Chile invite your company to join a business delegation focused on the Chilean poultry industry – targeting both primary production and processing. You can expect to meet leading Chilean poultry producers through a 3-days programme in Chile taking place 10-12 June 2025. The Trade Council in Denmark is supporting the event financially.

Who should join?

This business delegation highlights the poultry production value chain and Chilean market leading companies engaged in both primary production and processing. Participation is relevant for Danish companies in agri-industrial equipment, feed production and mills, stable and housing equipment, ventilation, food processing technology, biosecurity, salmonella handling, cooling/cold chain, storage quality control and inspection, ingredients, emissions reduction, odour management and advisory services.

The event is especially valuable for companies offering biosecurity solutions and circular sustainability initiatives. Following a recent Avian Influenza outbreak in 2023, Chile’s poultry sector is focused on market expansion, sustainable practices, and compliance with Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) guidelines to reinforce biosecurity at all levels, from backyard producers to large commercial operations and environmental pollutants.

Why join?

The Chilean poultry sector has grown steadily for over 50 years, with an average annual expansion rate of 1.6%. Since 2000, investments in technology and infrastructure have boosted efficiency and quality, strengthening Chile’s international position in agribusiness. Chile’s commitment to sustainability and market expansion presents significant opportunities for foreign businesses to collaborate in advancing technology, infrastructure, sustainable and biosecurity practices while gaining access to emerging markets and developing innovative products.

Key industry priorities include:

  • Biosecurity: Preventing exotic and endemic diseases through farmer support, training, and advanced cargo inspection technologies.
  • Environmental and sustainable management: Adopting circular economy technologies and practices to i.e. reuse and add value to animal by-products.
  • Digitalisation: Implementing advanced technological solutions to enhance quality assessment, control and inspection
  • Water efficiency: Engaging international experts and specialists to optimize water use.

DAFC and TC Santiago have previously organised physical and virtual delegations to Chile in 2019, 2020 and 2022, and the Chilean industry is very aware of Denmark’s position as industry leader.

With this delegation programme, participants are expected to meet the following Chilean companies/industry bodies (to be finally confirmed):
