Danish Agri and Food Systems Delegation to Lagos, Nigeria

In connection with Nordic Nigeria Connect Conference

The Embassy of Denmark in Abuja and The General Consulate of Denmark in Lagos together with the Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) cordially invite you to participate in an exclusive export promotion delegation to Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on Doing Business in Nigeria in Agriculture (Incl. Dairy and Milk Production), Agri-Tech, Aquaculture and Sustainable Delivery Systems including Cold Chain solutions and FoodLoss reduction.

The delegation is set up to create visibility to Danish companies already present or interested in exploring the Nigerian market within the sectors and meeting with relevant public private stakeholders from both Denmark and Nigeria.

Why Nigeria?

Nigeria is Africa's most populous country and largest economy. The country is among the most trend-setting growth markets with great geopolitical importance on the African continent. Nigeria is facing an important green transition, where i.e., energy transition inclusive of waste to energy from food and agriculture production. Climate adaptation is another important element as well. Nigeria reached a population of 220 million and is estimated to be among the world’s top 3 most populated countries in the world in 2050, only topped by India and China.

The country faces an urgent need to improve food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and modernize its agricultural systems—creating opportunities for innovation, investment, and sustainable partnerships.

Opportunities 

The event is being hosted in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is the commercial hub of the country and where the Danish Consulate is situated. About 24 million people alone live-in megacity Lagos, which also represent the Tech Hub of Africa. The city accounts for 85% of all imports into Nigeria.

Nordic-Nigeria Connect will be used to promote sustainable Nordic solutions in Nigeria and in the megacity of Lagos. The focus will, among other things, be on needs and solutions within sustainable energy, circular economy, food and agriculture, agri-tech, transport and logistics, water and tech.

The conference will be opened by the High-Level Government Officials and a number of decision makers central to the green transition will attend the event. Solid participation is expected from Danish businesses that have existed in Nigeria for a number of years and have invested significantly and have a long-term presence in Nigeria, Development Finance Institutions and NGOs. 

Additional relevant institutions that will be invited to the event include; EU, African Development Bank, World bank. Examples of some ongoing agriculture projects in Nigeria include;

  • EU is focused on development a breeding programme that will support growth in livestock industry.
  • World Bank is running a Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project to improve livestock productivity, resilience and commercialization of selected value chains.
  • African Development Bank is running Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Program aimed at promoting agricultural industrialization.

  • Internal briefing session with the Embassy of Denmark and Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
  • Briefing on overview of Nigerian market and Project opportunities and Financing options
  • Welcome evening session for participants and introduction to Danish enterprises and community within Nigeria which will include attendance of Embassy and Consulate staff.

Tuesday 21 October 2025 (Day Two Nordic Nigeria Connect 2025 Event)
Covers:

  • A general high level morning session, including top government officials and participating ministers, representations from experienced Nigeria business leaders and key stakeholders. 
  • The afternoon will offer a cross sectorial forums and through leaders, where the 4 Nordic countries are collaborating. Denmark track represents the Agriculture Sector track, along with cross-sectorial digitalization and circular economy. The afternoon is expected to deliver insightful B2B sessions, key experts to share their Best Practices of Doing Business in Nigeria and networking events.
  • Evening reception with guests at Nordic Nigeria Connect 202

Wednesday 22 October 2025 (Day three)
Covers:

  • B2B speed networking session with local stakeholders
  • Departure to Airport

Price

The total price for participation in the business delegation to Nigeria is 8,750 DKK excl. flight, hotel and VAT per company for one representative and five guests at the reception. Extra representative 2,300 DKK per person.

NOTE: The Danish company is free to have its local representatives represent your company in full during the event. On the registration form you can, if relevant, therefore add the contact information of the local participating person/company. However, only Danish companies in Denmark with a Danish CVR number can register for participation, and the invoice will always be issued in DKK to the Danish company address.

We reserve the right to offer you participation at a different price should any of the above criteria change. Should this result in a higher price than quoted, you have the right to cancel your participation. Other expenses not mentioned above are at own expense including visa, flights, dine & drink, and hotel.

NOTE: The price is based on 7 participating companies, who are all eligible for subsidy, and 75 percent subsidy (already granted) from the Trade Council of Denmark.
If your company is not eligible for subsidy due to de-minimis issues (having received more than 300,000 Euro in de-minimis subsidy within the past 3 years, including the present), you are obliged to pay the full price without the subsidy. The same conditions apply, if you do not wish to receive subsidy.

Hotel and travel information

Flights and hotel are not included in the price. Upon registration, you will receive a travel suggestion.

Logistics

Logistics is not included in price. However the Logistics will be arranged by the consulate and prices as outlays will be shared to each participant to be paid as external partners will be utilized.
