Danish Livestock Business Delegation to Indonesia, Surabaya
With a Danish pavilion at IndoLivestock 2025
The Embassy of Denmark in Jakarta and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) invite you to participate in an export promotion to Indonesia focusing on livestock value chain, technology, feed and sustainable solutions. The livestock business delegation will be in conjunction with IndoLivestock 2025.
IndoLivestock is Indonesia’s premier livestock exhibition, bringing together professionals from across the livestock, feed and veterinary industries. Held annually, the exhibition features cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, and expert-led seminars, making it a vital platform for networking and business development in Indonesia’s rapidly expanding livestock sector.
A Danish pavilion will be organized to accommodate different Danish companies within the value chain.
Why Indonesia?
Indonesia, the largest economy in Southeast Asia, is undergoing rapid development across its agricultural and livestock sectors. With a population of 287 million people and a growing middle class, the country’s demand for high-quality meat, dairy, and livestock products continues to surge.
Key factors driving Indonesia's livestock market include:
- Economic Growth: Projected GDP growth of 5.2% in 2025 creates strong consumer spending power.
- Food Security Initiatives: Government programs prioritize local production of meat, dairy, and animal feed, creating demand for innovative solutions.
- Urbanization and Changing Diets: A shift toward protein-rich diets is driving demand for poultry, beef, and dairy products.
Market drivers and opportunities
Indonesia’s livestock industry offers significant business potential across several key areas:
- Feed and Nutrition: Indonesia’s animal feed market is valued at USD 8.7 billion (2023) and growing at 6% annually. Local producers seek efficient and sustainable feed solutions to support expanding livestock populations.
- Modern Farming Technologies: Automation and smart farming solutions are highly sought after to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Veterinary Products: Demand for vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic tools is rising alongside an emphasis on biosecurity and animal health.
- Genetics and Breeding: Advanced breeding solutions are needed to improve livestock yields, particularly for dairy and poultry.
- Sustainability Solutions: Waste-to-energy systems and circular agriculture technologies are in demand to help the sector meet environmental challenges.
Who should join?
The delegation is open to participation from companies engaged in the entire value chain of livestock production. This includes but not limited to the companies listed below:
- Animal Nutrition and Feed: Offer sustainable and efficient feed ingredients and additives to enhance livestock productivity.
- Livestock Farming Technology: Provide automation, climate control, and other advanced farming systems to modernize operations.

- Genetics and Breeding: Deliver advanced breeding technologies to help improve herd quality and yields.
- Waste Management and Circular Agriculture: Showcase solutions to reduce environmental impact, including biogas systems and waste-to-energy technologies.
Participating companies should tailor their offerings to address specific needs and gaps identified in the Indonesian market, such as improving upstream processes in the poultry industry, addressing environmental concerns in aquaculture, and providing advanced solutions for animal feed production and safety. Additionally, companies should be prepared to engage with local stakeholders and adapt their products/services to the specific requirements of the Indonesian market.
