Agro Technology Export delegation to Lviv, Ukraine

FOCUS: Pig production, Dairy Farming, Grain Handling, Biogas/ Energy

Join our export delegation to Lviv, Ukraine
for a Danish - Ukrainian Agri Business Conference, B2B meetings
and visit to major farms

Focus will be on pig production, dairy farming, grain handling, biomass, biogas and agritech solutions in each of the sectors.

Our destination is Lviv in Western Ukraine, near the Polish border, and the area around. We will bring you in by bus from Rszezow Airport in Poland on Monday afternoon and back to Poland on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. Please see our detailed programme in the text below.

Compared to our previous trip to Lviv in 2023, this time we are adding an important element, which is moving out of Lviv into the countryside to spend a whole day visiting the large farms or enterprises, to hear about their plans. Compared to our trip to Kyiv in April 2025, you will spend less time on travel logistics.

Meeting your customers and partners face-to-face in Ukraine itself makes a difference by showing dedication and partnership. This is the response we get from previous participants in our delegations, as well as from the Ukrainian side.

Lviv/ Focus

Our main programme elements are a full business day in Lviv city with seminar, sector workshops, b2b meetings and networking reception in a hotel, this time followed up with farm visits to major farms in the area all day the next day. The focus is on meeting the right stakeholders, listening to their plans and giving you speaking time to promote your solutions.

We are working with a Danish approved security company in the planning process and following the Danish Embassy’s security personnel’s rules. We will assist with the travel and accommodation arrangements following the security recommendations. Please see our more detailed programme below.

NB!   TEAMS meeting 18 December, 10 – 11 hrs. (Danish time)

The market situation

Denmark has a very good name in Ukraine as a strong and serious partner with resource efficient solutions, due to continuous support, and not least our business delegations to Ukraine and incoming to Denmark from Ukraine.

The target market is Ukraine, a country at war, which poses challenges for Ukrainian companies. Food exports account for over half of Ukraine’s merchandise exports and are therefore crucial both as an industry and as a source of foreign exchange earnings. Both before and after the outbreak of the war, there have been very limited support measures, apart from reasonable tax conditions for industry.

Ukraine's agricultural sectors are navigating a complex landscape shaped by ongoing conflict, shifting export dynamics, and evolving domestic policies.

Despite the conflict, the markets for animal products and processed vegetable products have developed positively, which has led to increased earnings and interest in new investments. There is also a significant need for maintenance and repair projects within the sector.

Pork imports to Ukraine have surged significantly, with a 3.8-fold increase in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. In July 2025, imports reached record levels, with nearly 3.1 thousand tons of pork entering the country. European suppliers, particularly from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland, have become key contributors to Ukraine's pork imports.

Ukraine's dairy imports have been on the rise, with a 12% increase in volume during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Cheese remains the dominant import category, constituting 78% of dairy imports by value. There is a growing demand for high-quality dairy products, presenting opportunities for exporters to meet this need.

Highlighting the advantages of Danish cattle breeds, such as improved milk yield and disease resistance, can attract interest from Ukrainian farmers.

Grain logistics has been particularly hard hit in Ukraine, partly due to previous blockades against grain exports, targeted attacks on port infrastructure. This has resulted in increased demand for equipment for grain logistics and storage, as well as a growing demand for grain processing and storage within the country.

The processed vegetable products sector in Ukraine is expected to continue its growth trajectory, driven by increased domestic production, expanded processing capacities, and strategic export initiatives.

There are significant opportunities for investment in processing facilities, particularly in regions with high agricultural output. Additionally, partnerships with international distributors can facilitate access to broader markets. There is also a notable increase in the construction of vegetable storage facilities, primarily by small and medium-sized farmers.

By participating, you will not only have the chance to showcase your products and services but also to forge strategic partnerships and gain valuable insights into the future plans of the big farmers.

We strongly encourage you to seize this opportunity to position your brand at the forefront of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Your participation will not only contribute to your company’s success but also strengthen Denmark's reputation as a leader in agricultural innovation.
