Danish Agri and Food Systems Delegation to Lagos, Nigeria
in connection with Agro-Food Nigeria Summit
The Embassy of Denmark in Abuja and The General Consulate of Denmark in Lagos together with the Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) cordially invite you to participate in an exclusive export promotion delegation to Lagos, Nigeria to attend the The AgroFood Nigeria Summit. The delegation will include companies providing Nigeria relevant Agro, food + beverage tech, food ingredients, packaging & storage, and food & hospitality in Nigeria.
The delegation is set up to create visibility to Danish companies already present or interested in exploring the Nigerian market within the sectors and meeting with stakeholders from Nigeria.
Why Nigeria?
Nigeria is Africa's most populous country and largest economy. The country is among the most trend-setting growth markets with great geopolitical importance on the African continent. The Agri-food Nigeria Summit presents an excellent opportunity to meet thousands of Nigeria’s top buyers to boost Danish businesses. The event will be the 11th edition of agri-food exhibition.
Nigeria a significant driving force within Agro and food packaging and food industries with its large population of 500 million people and high demand.
Nigeria, with over 220 million people and a food and beverage sector valued at more than $40 billion annually, represents one of Africa’s fastest-growing consumer markets. Participation in the 8th WACCSE/Agrofood event offers Danish Agro-food, food and beverage tech, ingredients, packaging, storage, and FMCG companies a unique opportunity to showcase their innovations to a market where over 60% of household spending goes to food and e-commerce sales are projected to grow by over 18% yearly. By exhibiting, Danish firms can highlight strengths in sustainable processing, cold chain, safe packaging, premium consumer goods and Agri-equipments while forging partnerships with distributors, retailers, and digital platforms across West Africa’s over 400 million-strong regional market.
Opportunities
The event is being hosted in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is the commercial hub of the country and where the Danish Consulate is situated. About 24 million people alone live-in megacity Lagos, which also represent the Tech Hub of Africa. The city accounts for 85% of all imports into Nigeria.
The Danish Agri-food systems will be used to promote sustainable Nordic solutions in Nigeria and in the megacity of Lagos. The exhibition will give Danish firms the opportunity to highlight strengths in sustainable processing, cold chain, safe packaging, premium consumer goods and Agri-equipment while forging partnerships with distributors, retailers, and digital platforms across West Africa’s over 400 million-strong regional market.
Additional relevant institutions that will be invited to the event include; EU teams, Retailers, supermarkets potential local representatives and partners. Opportunities in Nigeria include;
- Vast Consumer Base: Nigeria has the largest population in Africa, over 225 million people, with a significant youth demographic, creating a massive and growing consumer market for FMCG products.
- Growing Urbanization and Middle Class: Increasing urbanization and a developing middle class are driving demand for convenience and quality, shifting consumption patterns towards packaged goods and modern retail formats (supermarkets, hypermarkets).
- Market Growth Potential: Nigeria's FMCG market is the fastest-growing in Africa in terms of value, estimated at $25 billion with a 54.1% growth value in 2025, indicating strong consumer demand despite economic pressures.
- Demand for Specific Products: There is a rising demand for a variety of products, including food and beverages (which make up 70% of the market), personal care items, and household goods.
- Danish Brand Reputation: Danish companies are often associated with quality, reliability, sustainability, and high food safety standards, which can be a strong selling point for the increasingly discerning Nigerian consumer who is becoming more health-conscious.

Arrival Day Sunday 22nd March 2025 (Day 0)
Arrival in Lagos, Nigeria
Monday 23rd of March (Day One)
Covers:
- Internal briefing session with the Embassy of Denmark and Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
- Briefing on overview of Nigerian market.
- Welcome evening session for participants and introduction to Danish enterprises and community within Nigeria which will include attendance of and Consulate staff.
Tuesday 24th March 2025 (Day Two)
Covers:
- Participation at Danish pavilion at event (Inclusive of some panel discussions at different intervals)
- Company product marketers can be made available on request if needed (will be as a separate cost to the companies)
Wednesday 25th March 2025 (Day three)
Covers:
- Participation at Danish pavilion at event
- Departure to Airport
Price
The total price for participation in the business delegation to Nigeria is 10,250 DKK excl. flight, hotel and VAT per company for one representative and five guests at the reception. Extra representative 2,300 DKK per person.
NOTE: The Danish company is free to have its local representatives represent your company in full during the event. On the registration form you can, if relevant, therefore add the contact information of the local participating person/company. However, only Danish companies in Denmark with a Danish CVR number can register for participation, and the invoice will always be issued in DKK to the Danish company address.
We reserve the right to offer you participation at a different price should any of the above criteria change. Should this result in a higher price than quoted, you have the right to cancel your participation. Other expenses not mentioned above are at own expense including visa, flights, dine & drink, and hotel.
NOTE: The price is based on 7 participating companies, who are all eligible for subsidy, and 75 percent subsidy (already granted) from the Trade Council of Denmark.
If your company is not eligible for subsidy due to de-minimis issues (having received more than 300,000 Euro in de-minimis subsidy within the past 3 years, including the present), you are obliged to pay the full price without the subsidy. The same conditions apply, if you do not wish to receive subsidy.
Hotel and travel information
Flights and hotel are not included in the price. Upon registration, you will receive a travel suggestion.
Logistics
Logistics is not included in price. However, the Logistics will be arranged by the consulate and prices as outlays will be shared to each participant to be paid as external partners will be utilized.
