Danish Pig Farming Delegation to China, Chengdu

Sichuan Province

The Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) and the Danish Embassy in Beijing invite you to participate in an export delegation to China with a focus on sustainable pig farming. The delegation visit will take place in Chengdu (Sichuan Province). China is the world’s largest pig producer, and Sichuan is one of the most important provincial pig-producing and consuming regions. Sichuan is home to large integrated pig producers and processors; medium-scale farms that are rapidly modernizing and consolidating; feed and breeding companies; veterinary services and medicine; and downstream players in slaughter, cold chain etc. The sector is characterized by a strong policy push for modernization and biosecurity, growing demand for food safety and traceability, and accelerating adoption of precision farming and more environmental-friendly technologies. The large integrated producers (top ones at national and provincial level) control a big share of the market. They are often more ready to adopt advanced solutions along the pig farming value chain. In terms of production volume, Sichuan was the number 1 province in China in 2024. Danish companies are well positioned to offer both solutions and equipment to suit the needs of the Chinese pig farming industry, and the delegation will give the participating companies an opportunity to present their products and solutions directly to potential Chinese customers.
