Dairy farming in Poland – a description
- Potential and Access to Greater Poland & Kuyavian-Pomeranian Regions
The Greater Poland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeships are among Poland’s most advanced and investment-ready agricultural regions, combining fertile soils, modern technology, and strong cooperative structures.
Greater Poland is a dairy powerhouse, producing a large share of Poland’s 12.6 billion litres of milk annually and having the highest average herd size nationwide. Krotoszyn and Gostyń counties host nearly 50,000 cows across 900 modern farms, many using robotic milking and digital monitoring systems.
Kuyavian-Pomeranian also ranks high in automation and dairy modernization, with 1,200 farms under milk recording and the second-highest number of milking robots in Poland. Farmers here actively invest in biogas, solar, and precision farming, supported by EU rural development funds.
Farmers in both regions are internationally oriented and innovation-driven, seeking partnerships and technologies from abroad. This provides an excellent opportunity for Danish companies to present solutions within dairy technology, automation, green energy, and circular farming, targeting a sector with high investment capacity and strong modernization ambitions.
Through the Embassy’s cooperation with the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers (PFHBiPM) and local associations, we have direct access to leading farms and can facilitate meetings and seminars with the most interested farmers.
Meet the players
The programme combines two seminars, networking opportunities with key participants, and field visits to some of Poland’s largest and most innovative dairy farms in the regions – the country’s leading centres of milk production and agricultural innovation.
Participants will meet directly with the President and Vice President of the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers, and visit farms that showcase modern herd management, automation, and strong environmental ambition.
The field visits include:
- Gostyń, Greater Poland – a large-scale farm with approx. 500 cows, >14,000 kg yield per cow, and plans for a 0.5 MW biogas plant;
- Łubianka, Kuyavian-Pomeranian – a 400-cow farm using strip-till and no-till systems, currently upgrading its milking infrastructure;
- Więcbork, Kuyavian-Pomeranian – a highly automated farm with 3 robotic milking systems and solar-powered feeding solutions;
- Frydrychowo, Kuyavian-Pomeranian – a modern, climate-controlled dairy achieving yields of over 14,600 kg per cow.
Through the Embassy’s cooperation with Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers (PFHBiPM) and local agricultural partners, the visit ensures direct access to the sector’s key decision-makers, combining knowledge exchange, professional networking, and practical insight into Poland’s most dynamic and investment-ready dairy regions.
Programme 9 - 12 March 2026
The 3½-day programme combines two high-level seminars, networking opportunities with key stakeholders, and field visits to leading dairy farms. The aim is to provide Danish participants with a comprehensive understanding of Poland’s innovative and investment-ready agricultural areas.
The programme offers a balanced mix of knowledge exchange, networking, and on-site learning opportunities, ensuring direct contact with the Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers (PFHBiPM), and key players in the dairy sector. Participants will gain first-hand insight into Polish farms’ modernization efforts, automation trends, and green transition ambitions.
9 March (Monday)
