Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production Delegation
Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) and the Royal Danish Consulate General in Dubai invite you to participate in an export delegation to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) focusing on sustainable agriculture and food production. The UAE operates in one of the world’s most challenging agricultural environments, marked by an arid climate, extreme temperatures, scarce rainfall, and limited arable land. As a result, the nation relies on food imports for more than 85–90% of its national consumption. In response, the UAE has embarked on a comprehensive transformation of its agri-food system to build sustainable, resilient, and locally anchored production.
At the heart of this shift is the National Food Security Strategy 2051, which directs government support toward agritech innovation, resource-efficient farming, and domestic food production. This agenda underlines the UAE’s broader ambitions for economic diversification, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship. In March 2025, an MoU on Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems was signed between the United Arab Emirates and Denmark marking a significant milestone in our bilateral cooperation on food security, sustainability, and innovation. Danish solutions presented by the companies during this delegation can contribute to this work and tap into the commercial opportunities within the scope of the MoU.
