The market situation
The food and agriculture sector accounts for approximately 20% of the state’s economy representing USD 92,7 billion. North Carolina is the second-largest pork producer in the U.S., one of the top poultry-producing states, as well as a major specialty and row crop producer with significant processing infrastructure for all three of them.
Informally known as “the Silicon Valley of AgriTech", the Research Triangle region around Raleigh and Durham serves as the epicenter for U.S. food and agricultural innovation with some of the leading capabilities within biotechnology and biosolutions in the country.
Danish companies already hold sizeable investments in the state. Furthermore, previous successful engagements, including a MoU between NC and Denmark, has built a solid network of both commercial, regulatory and academic stakeholders in the region.
North Carolina consistently ranks as one of the best states in the US to conduct business, with the lowest corporate income tax in the US, strong talent pool, sizeable investments in infrastructure and attractive tax incentives.
Following Hurricane Helene’s severe impact on the food and agricultural sector in 2024, state authorities have intensified efforts to rebuild resilient, resource efficient food systems creating strong entry points for Danish solutions within circularity, biogas, and novel food.
By participating, you will not only have the chance to showcase your products and services but also to forge strategic partnerships and gain valuable insights into the future plans of offtakers across the value chain.
We strongly encourage you to seize this opportunity to position your brand at the forefront of the North Carolinian food and agricultural sector. Your participation will not only contribute to your company’s success but also strengthen Denmark's reputation as a leader in food and agricultural innovation.
Price
The price for participation is 18,750 DKK excl. flights, hotels, and VAT per company for 1 participant after deduction of 50% subsidy from Trade Council and with 8 companies participating. Price for each extra participant is DKK 1,450, max 3 representatives in total.
NOTE: The Danish company is free to have its local representatives represent your company in full during the event. However, only Danish companies in Denmark with a Danish CVR number can register for participation, and the invoicing will always be issued in DKK to the Danish company address.
We reserve the right to offer you participation at a different price, if any of the above criteria change. Should this result in a higher price than quoted, you have the right to cancel your participation. NOTE: The price is based on 8 participating companies, who are all eligible for subsidy, and 50 percent subsidy (applied for but not yet granted) from the Trade Council of Denmark. If your company is not eligible for subsidy due to de-minimis issues (having received more than 300,000 Euro in de-minimis subsidy within the past 3 years, including the present), you are obliged to pay the full price without the subsidy.
