Business delegation to Côte d’Ivoire

The Embassy of Denmark in Accra and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC) cordially invite you to participate in an exclusive export promotion delegation to Côte d’Ivoire focusing on sustainable value and supply chains development.

Key opportunities

The country is the world’s largest cocoa producer and a major producer of cashew, rubber, coffee, mango and cassava. These value chains are important to exports and rural livelihoods, while significant opportunities remain in productivity, quality, post-harvest handling, processing, traceability, sustainability, cold-chain and logistics infrastructure.

Why Cote D’ivoire?

• One of Africa’s most dynamic economies and the leading growth engine of Francophone West Africa. Accounts for roughly 39% of WAEMU nominal GDP and about 40% of the union’s exports, underscoring its dominant regional role.

• Population of approximately 32 to 33 million in 2025 and a growing middle class, Côte d’Ivoire offers a large and expanding domestic market alongside its position as a key gateway to the broader West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and ECOWAS.

• World’s largest producer of cocoa (typically 1.7 to 2.0+ million tonnes in recent seasons, with strong recovery efforts and a clear policy goal to raise local processing toward 50% by 2030.

• Top global producer of cashew (raw production surged past 1.5 million tonnes in 2025 from under 1 million the prior year, with rapidly expanding kernel processing capacity and export earnings).

• Africa’s leading rubber producer (and among the world’s top three)

• Significant coffee producer, and an important grower of mango and cassava. These commodities form the backbone of exports and rural livelihoods.

Joining a structured export-promotion delegation provides direct access to decision-makers, cooperatives, processors, industrial-zone operators, and public programmes; facilitates market intelligence and partnership matchmaking; and positions Danish companies early in a high-growth market that prioritises local value addition, food security, and sustainable supply-chain upgrading. The combination of robust macroeconomic fundamentals, commodity scale, policy support for industrialisation, and clear technology gaps makes Côte d’Ivoire a high-potential destination for Danish expertise and solutions in these exact areas. Besides, FMCG creates natural synergies with the delegation’s core themes while aquaculture and pig farming feed into protein-based consumer products and processed meats.

• Pig farming: genetics, biosecurity, feed, modern housing, productivity solutions and integrated processing to support import substitution.

• Aquaculture: hatchery technology, feed, cages and pond systems, genetics and training, supported by government efforts to reduce fish import dependence.

• Logistics: modern storage, cold-chain, transport and port/hinterland solutions to reduce losses and improve competitiveness.

• Crops: technologies for higher yields, fermentation and drying, quality control, primary and secondary processing, by-product valorisation, and EU sustainability/deforestation-free compliance.

Your benefits & programme

Participants will gain market and sector insights, including EU sustainability requirements besides, access to high-level B2B matchmaking; networking and practical market exposure; and knowledge-sharing with relevant stakeholders. The programme will include seminars, B2B meetings, company visits and networking events, launch of a feasibility study focused on the opportunities within agriculture and agro-industry in Côte d’Ivoire with the final programme developed approximately a month and a half before the delegation depending on the company signups and their interests. His Excellency Jakob Linulf, Ambassador of Denmark in Ghana with oversight on Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principles, will participate.

Price

The total price for participation in the business delegation to Côte d’Ivoire is DKK 10,200 excl. flight, hotel and VAT per company for 1 representative and 3 guests at the reception.
Extra representative DKK 2,300 per person.

NOTE: The Danish company is free to have its local representatives represent your company in full during the event. On the registration form you can, if relevant, therefore add the contact information of the local participating person/company. However, only Danish companies in Denmark with a Danish CVR number can register for participation, and the invoicing will always be issued in DKK to the Danish company address.

We reserve the right to offer you participation at a different price, if any of the above criteria change. Should this result in a higher price than quoted, you have the right to cancel your participation. Other expenses not mentioned above are at your own expense including visa, flights, dining & drink and hotel.

NOTE: The price is based on 7 participating companies, who are all eligible for subsidy, and 75 percent subsidy (already granted) from the Trade Council of Denmark.
If your company is not eligible for subsidy due to de-minimis issues (having received more than 300,000 Euro in de-minimis subsidy within the past 3 years, including the present), you are obliged to pay the full price without the subsidy. The same conditions apply, if you do not wish to receive subsidy.

Hotel and travel information

Flights and hotel are not included in the price. Upon registration, you will receive a travel suggestion.
